FDES Monterey Membership

Becoming a member of the FDES Portuguese Hall of Monterey means joining a community rooted in faith, friendship, heritage, and service for more than 80 years. Membership is a meaningful way to help preserve Portuguese traditions on the Monterey Peninsula and participate in the events and celebrations that keep them strong for future generations.

Who May Apply

Membership is intended for individuals of Portuguese descent who would like to participate in and support the traditions and mission of FDES Monterey.

As part of the application process, prospective members may be asked to share their connection to Portuguese heritage and whether they know a current member who can serve as a sponsor or reference.

Why Become a Member?

FDES membership is more than annual dues. It is a way to stay connected to Portuguese heritage, support the Festa do Divino Espírito Santo, and help sustain an organization that has served the Monterey community since 1943.

As a member, you help support:

• The preservation of Portuguese traditions and community heritage

• The annual Festa do Divino Espírito Santo

• Scholarships for deserving students of Portuguese descent

• Community events and ongoing organizational activities

Applications are reviewed before acceptance. Approved applicants will be contacted with next steps and membership dues information. Current annual dues are $25 for individual membership and $50 for couple/family membership.
