FDES Scholarships

Each year the FDES Portuguese Hall of Monterey proudly awards scholarships to outstanding students of Portuguese descent pursuing higher education, honoring the generations who built this community and investing in those who will carry it forward.

Basic Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be graduating high school seniors of Portuguese descent, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and actively involved with FDES Monterey.

  • A parent must be a member in good standing of FDES Monterey for three years prior to the student’s graduation.

  • Applicants must have maintained a minimum 3.0 grade point average in high school and submit a current transcript.

  • The completed application packet must be received by March 31.

How to Apply

Download the scholarship application using the link above. Complete it electronically or print and sign it by hand. Save your completed file with your name in the filename, for example: Mary-Silva-FDES-Scholarship-Application.

Please submit completed applications according to the instructions included in the scholarship application, or mail them to 950 Casanova Avenue, Monterey, CA 93940.
